Babymoon

We decided to take an impromptu trip to the beach at the end of March. We debated whether or not to go but I'm so glad we did!! We were going to head out Thursday after work, but got a 4 pm call from daycare that Ellis had a 103 fever. We rushed our man to the pediatrician who determined it was a fever virus. We ended up leaving Birmingham Friday morning as we hadn't finished packing and were so tired after fighting traffic headed home from the doctor. We made a quick pit stop at my parents to drop of Bella and hit the roads! First stop the Whales Tail for lunch! Then we checked into our room, changed and headed to the beach!! We played for a few hours then went to the red bar for dinner. Of course we stopped for ice cream afterwards. Saturday morning Ellis had us out on the beach before 8 am. Fortunately the hotel had a Starbucks that also served Krispy Kreme! We really enjoyed the peaceful morning! After our walk we got ready to head to Seaside for some shopping and lunch. After lunch and our $55 lobster rolls (I blame Brad for that but they were delish), we headed back to the hotel for four hours on the beach. Ellis had a blast! He loved the beach this trip! Wanted to be playing in the sand and even laughed and played in the ankle deep water! It was so nice to get away and have fun! He stayed doped up on Advil and Tylenol but never let his fever hold him down. That night we went to Baytowne and ate yummy pizza, played in the arcade and got ice cream again! :) The next morning we lounged around and left the hotel at check out time and headed to the Donut Hole (where we waited 1 1/2 hours to be served)! After that we got on the road, but not before Brad stopped at Walmart and bought Frozen because he could not stand another 5 hours of Yo Gabba Gabba on repeat! We had a great trip together as a family of three. So glad we were able to get away and spent time making some fun memories!
