First Trip to the Zoo

We took Ellis to the Birmingham Zoo for the first time on Father's Day (June 19, 2011). I asked Brad what he wanted to do and he said go to the Zoo! He didn't have to tell me twice! It was very thoughtful for Brad to give up his hard earned day of rest and peace and quiet to take Ellis to the zoo - I'm telling you, Ellis is lucky he has such a good Daddy! When we got to the zoo, we found out that kids under 2 got in free and so did Daddies on Father's day! Yippee! We got in and bought tokens for the train for less than $20! It was HOT, HOT, HOT but we had a great time! The Zoo is actually very nice and the exhibits were really cool! Ellis had a great trip!

Who wouldn't want an extra 20 pounds in the front if they were all this cute?! Personally, my extra weight evenly distributes all over and does not look as adorable. :)

First exhibit was birds. Ellis was very fascinated in the bird. It is to the right of the bar.

Ellis kept touching the wire and the bird kept hopping closer and closer...

Ellis casually moved his hand, just in time too because the bird lept onto the wire right where his hands had been! Love Brad's surprised face!

Ellis and the bird were still into one another, even after the almost incident. :)

The animals were just as fascinated with Ellis. OR they were fascinated in how good he would taste!
