Paci Stealer

Ellis is fearless in his new classroom. Although his first day in the new big boy class was a little unnerving and eye-opening (hello, paci stealer girl) he has adjusted quite well.

So well in fact that now Ellis has become a paci stealer.

I was minding my own business at Wal-Mart one day on my lunch hour (yes, this is what you can look forward to when you are a working mom - trips to Wal-Mart on your lunch hour - fun times indeed)! I saw one of Ellis' teachers in one of the aisles and asked her how Ellis' day was going.

See below for our conversation:
D (Don): How has Ellis been today?
T (teacher): Oh boy, he got into some trouble today.
D: Really??
T: Oh yes.
D: Well what did he do??
T: He slapped a girl in class.
D: WHAT?!?!
T: He crawled over to a little girl in the class. He sat and looked at her and then reached over and tried to pull her paci out of her mouth. She would not give it to him and he got ticked off and gave her a look and then took his little hand and slapped her...on her face!
D: Oh my.

On a side note, we told our parents about 'the incident.' Of course my mom said that Ellis was too young and small to actually hurt anyone (did she so conveniently forget the bruises on her arm from him beating her weeks before with his paci?!) and Brad's mom claimed that he did this in retaliation of having his paci stolen on his first day. I think that Ellis could do a terrible, awful thing and be defended to the nth degree by his two grandmas!

I was pretty ashamed of Ellis' behavior. So the next afternoon, I asked how Ellis' day went, just praying that he had not physically abused anyone again. They said that during the day they heard Ellis' SCREAM so loud and turned around and a little boy in the class was pulling E's hair as hard as he could. Payback is no fun indeed!
