Our first full day was spent at the Magic Kingdom. I had read countless websites, memorized the layout, studied the crowd calendar and yet nothing had prepared me for a 9 crowd! Actually I compare it to a Game Day in Tuscaloosa...like when they played LSU in the game of the century. Some of the people were probably even more aggressive than LSU fans and instead of running into people that were inebriated you were running into strollers, kids, parents, etc! I'm soooo glad we had our trusty Bob stroller! We bought ours used from our neighbor and honestly we said it would have been worth paying full price just for the comfort Ellis had during the trip. I could blog a whole post about how we were so happy to have the stroller with us!
So we slept in a little and didn't leave until probably 9 am to head to the parks. We didn't realize that you had to drive to the transportation center and then had to take monorail or ferry to MK. We probably waited 30 min for the monorail but it was due to the crowd and to not being at the park when it opened.
By the time we entered the park the first Dream Along with Mickey was about to start. We were able to get a front row spot, it was a beautiful day!!! Ellis really enjoyed it! It was a great start to our day and trip! After the show we rushed to Dumbo! It was a 45 minute wait time but they had an indoor play area for the kids which is genius!! I was able to get a fast pass for Peter Pan during our wait too. Ellis had a blast on Dumbo - I was a little nervous to see how he would react but he really enjoyed flying in the air.
After Dumbo we used our fast passes to skip the 120 minute wait at Peter Pan, which lasted about 90 seconds and was sort of disappointing for a ride with that wait time. But we rode it! :) after Peter Pan we waited in a 60 minute line for Winnie the Pooh, Ellis was most excited to sneak a peek at Pooh and Tigger while we waited in line. He loved playing in the play yard for the ride too, very nice amenity! We were the second family from the front when the ride broke down....super frustrating but I made sure to get us passes they handed out just to the first three families that allowed us to ride any ride at Disney without a wait. We decided to get lunch because food makes everyone feel better (did I mention we waited in line for 30 minutes for chicken tenders?)!! We then got to meet Pooh and Tigger and got fast passes to finally ride Pooh. Ellis loooooved meeting the characters, he would not run up to them but when he would leave he would give them a huge smile and bounce around and wave bye! We got fast passes for the new Under the Sea ride and decided to ride the tea cups which Ellis loved! He will still tell you the cups go round and round and round. We went to watch the afternoon parade and saw Grace, Max, Graham, Gloria and Cole, our travel buddies! We enjoyed the parade together and it was amazing we found them by chance as cell reception was as good as it is in Ttown on game day! We rode the Ariel ride, had a yummy drink from the new Gastons Tavern, rode Dumbo one more time and called it quits. We headed back to the hotel to rest before our 9:15 dinner reservations at Ohana. We needed some downtime! Dinner was fabulous!! So thankful Gloria and Grace booked us this dinner - best meal we had!!!!!! We also had a fireworks view which was so cool!! We all slept hard that night, we had a long day the next day...Mr. E turned TWO and it was Thanksgiving!!!
